"Beneath The Glory"

This landscape painting in oils is the fifth painting of my series of work capturing what I love most about the outdoors and is an attempt to capture the magnificent beauty of the Southwestern United States. This painting began on location with a plein air study. We spent a couple of days in a canyon just like this and for the longest time I've wanted to capture all the things that made this place special to me, but I couldn't figure out how. Recently while revisiting some of the photos I took along with the paintings I brought back from the area, I found my inspiration and it all came together.

I titled this painting "Beneath The Glory" because in the land of canyons, the towering landscapes around you can make oneself feel so small. The sheer glory of the rocks tower above these deep canyons, where water, wildlife, and nature thrives.

Specifics:

30x40" oil painting - canvas panel w/wood frame backing (Approx 2" thick)

I paint the sides to match the painting (the painting is extended to the sides) and it is ready to hang as is or can be custom framed.

This painting comes with a certificate of authenticity which is also documented in a hard copy catalog of original paintings. This catalog is in the possession of myself, the artist.

I personally guarantee that this painting will last for many years to come. I use nothing but the highest grade archival materials in creating and framing this artwork to ensure that this painting is ready to withstand the ages. If you have any questions about this painting or any concerns please feel free to contact me.

Even More Perfect in Person

This is an update on the review I made for the “Beneath the Glory” painting upon placing my purchase mid of 2021. I requested Chuck to keep the painting for me until days before Christmas. Aside from being securely wrapped, the package (“Beneath the Glory” painting and the plein air study “All the Glory”) came with Certificates of Authenticity, pictures of Chuck holding both the original paintings (front and back), handwritten personal dedication and signed “Your Friend, Chuck” and USB copy of the time lapse video. I would like to note that Chuck could have sold the 8” x 10” plein air study which could have made him additional $1,000. Instead, he chose to include it as a gift (framed) as he loves for the two paintings to stay together. As per Chuck’s own words, “They make a special pair and really tell the whole story.” This tells something about Chuck’s character and his dedication and the value he put on his art works – truly beyond monetary consideration. It is important to point out that Chuck has been so gracious in accepting all my requests on all my purchases (and he did not bill me extra for those although I offered to pay for the extra works/inconvenience). I made those requests for documentation purposes because I heard an art appraiser once said that the value of an art diminishes when it lacks the proper documentation/history.

On Christmas morning, I sat right in front of the paintings. I was completely in awe of the details and the texture of “Beneath the Glory.” Seriously, I felt I was right there in Utah myself. I may have looked at the painting for more than an hour. The overall composition, lighting, placement of the water, deers and eagle, trees and shrubs are well thought of. That separates Chuck from other artists as he has perfected and has worked on his craft for a lot of years. I couldn’t help but tell myself how blessed and privileged I am to own Chuck’s original art works. While I admire all of Chuck’s paintings, I would say I love “Beneath the Glory” the most.

The Perfect Painting

Chuck not only loves what he paints, he is so thoughtful of his followers and clients. This is just the perfect painting for me. I love the balancing of the warm colors of the rugged mountains, the varied green shades from the trees and the shrubs, as well as the luminescence from the flowing waters. I love the presence of the crossing mule deers and the flying eagle on the cloudy bluish horizon. This artwork entailed a year of conceptualization, hard work, and Chuck’s love of nature is indeed captured in this painting. I feel so honored to be the lucky owner of “Beneath the Glory” and being gifted with its plein air painting.

I patronize Chuck Black for his love of art, his generous contributions to the community by sharing his painting skills. I feel when I buy his artwork, I don’t only buy his painting; I become a partner of his social works, as well.
